MK-7 (menaquinone-7) is an enhanced bioactive form of Vitamin K2. MK-7 Is responsible for the carboxylation of specific bone proteins needed for building bone. Also MK-7 promotes cardiovascular health by helping to maintain arterial elasticity. The Rotterdam Study, a very large clinical trial assessing the effects of Vitamin K2 intake on coronary heart disease, concluded that MK-7 is associated with a reduced risk of arterial calcification and coronary heart disease.
